    Soviet Tankers flame-resistant black Suit

Got some of the WW2 Style, early 50's made black Tankers Suits, often seen on Pictures as the Soviets entered Berlin. I got them complete with the Hood and the Gloves.

            Are you sure about that?

Not being funny but these I've always thought were naval torpedo gunners foul weather gear...

Yes, they're coming directly fron the Depot.
Please let me know, when Torpedo Gunnrs have "Foul Weather". I alway's thought, that they're hanging arround in a big tube with no weather.

No, "in the day", on fast attack boats some poor bugger had to launch torpedoes from the deck of something doing 40+ knots which even on a nice day probably yields a fair amount of spray...

I will sit and watch my DVD tomorrow of the Battle of Berlin to see if I can see these in use. There are certainly some other styles of "leather" jackets to be seen, other than the regular tankers jackets in this film.

                  Cheers, Ade.

They're coming from an former soviet Guards Tank Regiment Depot near Kiev.

Fire resistant suit or Wet weather gear?
Only one why to find out... try and set fire to it. If a cigarette lighter makes it go up in flames then what you had was a foul weather suit.

I think I can believe the Guy's in the Depot.

Hi Guys, I watched the film again today to see if these were the ones featured. Very hard to say for sure? I thought that they were to be seen in one bit of footage where a tanker was carrying a wounded comrade, but these jackets had an adjustment D ring or buckle on the hip. Another scene showed a parade of vehicle crews. They were wearing a waist length black jacket with a similar collar (no shoulder straps) but not enough detail to say for sure if these were the same as Nico's jacket.

                          Cheers, Ade.

                            Flame Suit

This is for certain an armored crewman item... and has WW2 origins. There are plenty of still photos of latewar Soviet tankers wearing the jacket from this ensemble.
