Good. No idea of what it is for? Is it just a souvenir tourists would pick up there or what? Age?

As a side note, I would like to point out that when I was there in 1996, this particular museum was known as the Museum of Political History; and was virtually unknown to Western tourists. Maybe it was the name.

This was originally the residence of the famous prima ballerina Matilda Kshsinskaya. In 1917, it was taken over by the Bolsheviks and was Lenin’s first headquarters. The prominent balcony is the one from which he is seen addressing the faithful in the endless flattering paintings of the event. Among the numerous exhibits, his office is very well restored and preserved; and I also recall some excellent presentations on the personalities and events of the 900 Days. In short, a must see for anyone interested in this forum.
