I am not sure I agree; though the maroon with blue piping was used for NKVD Troops, there were also the Blue with royal blue piping; there may be some distinction between NKVD and NKGB units (like with the generals boards) for EM as there were for Generals ( stripe and no stripe, etc). I could be wrong as I am using generals info for EM;s but i have seen these boards before and I think they are Ok. -DD

No, they are not black, they are blue. Like I said I think the NKVD-NKGB had 2 seperate boards; Troops and Internal Security. I have seen both the blue piped blue boards as here, i think for internal security NKVD-NKGB, and the maroon with blue piping for NKVD Troops. -DougD

Yes, those boards are for internal security troops - like the MVD VV later...
