Hi Guys, I have got a couple of these caps, but the top on all of them is kind of open and unfolds...I would have expected it to be sewn together...? Is this normal? Cheers, Torsten.

Yes, this is perfectly normal.

Sometimes a sewing kit would be stashed inside these folds, such as cotton and needles.

thank you very much for the info... German overseas cap are closed on the top and this is why I thought it odd ... I have another question regarding these caps...I have a couple of them and some have large red star cap badges and some have smaller red star badges, but otherwise the caps are the same...is there any significance to that? Never saw the outer Part higher than the inner, and I had some 10.000.

this is a well used one and is not new from a Depot or something...no idea what happened to it...but all of the ones I have are like that and they are all used ones...Cheers, Torsten.
