NSKOV/KGB Badge (??)

Hi,

Can someone help identify this badge. I believe/have been told it is a possible early NSKOV/KGB badge.

Any help appreciated.

Do you mean NKVD? I think NSKOV was some German group.

The badge is (or is most probably a copy of) the 10 Years of the Cheka award ( at the time it was the OGPU). It did not have the typical 'egg' look to it because Dzershisky had just died and to honor him they made the badge like this. There are several varients of it, but there are a huge number of fakes of it as well. Though i know its history, I am a man of the cloth and will let those with more knowledge of medals and badges say if its real or repro.

Yes, I meant NKVD....I am mainly a German collector so it was a slip up!

I think the badge looks like genuine, (I need reverse side). The center of this badge must have a red paint ( normally soviets has not used enamel for cheap badeges and cap stars). This is the good badge if naot a fake, but needs a reverse.

NSKOV = Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung...I think that is some good looking badge you have got there...could you show a pic of the setup on the back please? Cheers, Torsten.
