Jubilee Medal for the 100th Year Anniversary of Lenin's Birth - Military & Civilian

Received the common Civilian Version of this medal today. I will post the Military Version below it for reference. For those unfamiliar with this award, there is one more variation. That being awarded to Foreigners. That one is very rare AND expensive.

And here is the Military Variation. Identical except for the inscription on the reverse.

I recently purchased one of these medals (civilian type) , it is mounted on the five sided suspention used on most soviet medals rather than the square ribbon that this medal usually comes on. Does this have any particular meaning? I am sure its not rare since I bought the medal for less than four bucks on ebay and the same seller has sold at least one more since I bought mine.

The five sided suspension is not original to these medals. It's probably a replacement of sorts.

As well, the "civilian" type are very cheap due to the volume produced. The Military versions slightly more expensive, the foreign versions through the roof for price.

Darrell, would you or anyone else be able to show a photo of the foreign version? How did it differentiate itself from the others? Cheers, Torsten.

There is no inscription at the 12 o'clock reverse. It is blank and was awarded to foreigners.
