    Presentation Cased Badges of Hungary

This presentation case and badges was supposedly presented to the head of a DDR NVA delegation, presumably to Hungary. Is anyone familiar enough with this practice, or with similar cased badge sets, to tell me more about them? Also I could use some help with the names of the badges. Some I know but most I don't.
The first picture will be of the gold inscription on the top of the cover of the case.

Hi Gordon, I found a couple links...the ones with the star and crossed swords that I also have are for examplary soldiers...http://rustyknight.topcities.com/Hungary.htm

some more here, but mostly all medals and not badges: http://myhome.naver.com/czar91/Medal...ry/HUNGARY.htm

        Cheers, Torsten.

          Tirsten,

Thanks for the URLs. I have Rusty Knight's site book ,arked but didn't look at it for those badges for some reason. The other site for Hungarian medals is new and is much better than anything I have come across before. Thanks very much for posting it. It is great for reference.

          Cheers,

          Gordon

The Hungarians certainly did have some beautifully made medals and badges....

Hello - will try to help -
The upper row are "Excelent Leader" or "Excelent Soldier" or "Excelent....whatever" These are the oval shaped badges and were given for exeplarary work in the military schools, training centers, etc... they were each awarded in grades of 1 to 3.
The star shaped badges with the swords are the various Military Sport competion awards. Some were local, others were national competitions. The lower row are sport badges for volleyball and rifle shooting, there may be a few more, but its hard to make them out. Basicaly a nice set of badges given as a present to the Germans. Have not encoutered very many examples such as this - very nice.
