    Help with Soviet cammo tunic

    Dear All,

I was young and I was stupid... so the only item I bought from the complete set which was available 15 years ago is this tunic.

I have never come across another one like it ever since (well, not that I was really looking...). In the set there was a unique boonie hat and a pair of pants of the same cammo pattern.

What is this uniform and is it possible to find a "panamka" and the pants to complete the set? If so, where?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Albert

The camo pattern was Soviet borderguards, but very interesting cut. I've owned three sets like this, but never seen the exposed buttons on the pockets and the main vertical opening. Usually the buttons on these heavier sets are concealed. There is also a lighter weight jumpsuit and two-piece set.

Yes, uniforms of the standard cut in this cammo are around. What I am looking for is info on, and sources for, this particular style. The boonie hat and the pants also had a unique cut.

Is there velcro on the sleeve pockets?

            Yes, the reddish-brownish type.

Its the first pattern KGB PV jacket then.

                1981-1982.

After that the design changed to match that of the VDV 6 pocket cammo uniform.

This jacket is quite rare I suggest. Finding the matching trousers will be next to impossible - or at least on their own.

The matching "lazer" boonie hat is a very rare item too. I'd love one but never seen one ever.

There is also a winter version of this border guard cammo... I'd also kill for a set of that!!!

This is very nice , I like 100% , I'm looking for one, Nyet wear with Buckerooski ... you need Big Hat... BG Full Colour Green Hat... that is one top hole order of dress, the best I can do at the moment is a KLMK suit.... I do have the winter weight Combats... I will let Comrade Kozlov stroke it when I see him next!.
The shoulder straps are incorrect, they should be Green Striped.Red is for Army.

I have a set of the winter style trousers. They are padded and extremely warm. Not tunic though.
