Anyone good with Soviet factory marks?

A friend of mine has a chest webbing set which isnt of a type I've seen.

He's sent me some close up photos of the markings on it, but they arent like anything Soviet I have seen.

Any of you know anything about something like this:

    Is it Soviet?

    Or not?

Doesn't look like anything Soviet I've seen before. Could you possibly show a front pic of the webbing? I can tell more by the fasteners and the color of the webbing than anything else. I think that we can rule out Chinese right away!

Here you go. Its a chestrig of the type seen in use in Afganistan. I think its probably Soviet from the design (although the velcro is interesting - doesnt appear much on anything but arm pockets on later combat uniforms - never seen it on kit like this). The flare pockets are uniquely Soviet from what I've seen though...

I have an aviator survival vest and spetsnaz assault vest with similar type Velcro. On the stamp I see "ego" which probably indicates Russian, but I can't see any other words clearer. I know we'll see nothing but fabric and ink if you get too detailed, but could you get about 10-20% closer on the writing? I'm merely guessing, but I would say post Afghanistan, early 90's Russia.

I bought 50 of them from an Army Depot in Russia, and as they explained the Stamp the 87 is for the Year. So its made at the end of the War.
          Hope this helps.

Duh! - I was so focused on reading the triangle I didn't pay attention to the other markings. You are correct - '87 would be the year of issue.

Very nice chest pouch. Does anyone know where you can get a hold of one of these type chest pouches?
