    Thanks for letting us know that Lee has actually produced a book. When he closed out the SEGMC he said in his final letter that he was going to concentrate on writing a book about the NVA but I was never sure if he actually did do that. I'll have to search for it on the net and see if I can get a copy.

      Thanks for the post of Generalmajor der Polizie Alfred a.D. Dahl and the picture of him with the six medals (bottom row) across. Interesting. Your point is well taken.

      Also, I concur the ribbon bar does look based upon the reverse, to be original, including the Czech medal.

      Per my prior post, I do recall seeing pictures of very senior Volksmarine Officers wearing medal bars comprised of medals of the DDR as well as medals of several other former Soviet Bloc countries. Perhaps their vessels sailed into ports in the waters of these other countries, or they participated in sea-going excercises with the countries. Whatever the case, I still think this is your best bet at identifying this particular medal bar and associating it to a specific NVA General Officer.
