I have one of these, it seems there are a few variations of this China-USSR Friendship Medal.

By the way, on the pictures posted I can only see one Soviet soldier wearing it.
Does it mean that this Medal was only awarded to Soviet people, or also to Chinese people?
Anyway, this is a Chinese Medal manufactured in China, not a Soviet Medal, right?

          Very nice pictures!

          Thanks,

          Dolf

And despite this Medal is not serial numbered (as far as I know, unless there are other serial numbered variations!) and has nothing written on the reverse, here is the reverse:

                      Dolf,

this Medals were awarded to Chinese and to Russians. There were four types of this medal:

1st version has an inscription on the back and the year 1951
2nd version has an inscription and 1952
3rd one has inscription and 1953
4th one is without inscription (like yours)

                      Interesting thread

                      Gerd

                              usairforce,

                              Very nice indeed!
A pitty that you don't always post the back of all pieces for us to compare the different Variations.
Anyway, I see there is at least one of the 3rd Variation, according to Gerd's description: with an inscription and the date 1953. Nice!

I'm sorry I don't read or talk Chinese, anyway I wonder if on that blue Doc you posted, to the right of the stamp and above the signature, it is written "Mao Dse Dung" (not sure if the right spell in English, or if it should be Mao Tse Tung instead!).

                              Anyway, very nice sets, congrats!

                              Dolf
