        Hi Jon,

I would say they are worth the following - give or take a couple of dollars.

-Medal for Victory over Germany w/ Doc: $12
-Medal for Defense of Leningrad: $20
-Medal for Defense of Stalingrad: $25

        John

It's a Bulgarian military document. I can't see the entire text, but it appears to be a medal awarding document.

It is a document from the bulgarian Ministry of War for awarding a medal (as confirmed by the small stamp).

                    Jeff,

It's Kingdom of Bulgaria document for medal to a participant in War of 1915-1918. Awarded in 1942.

While the medal itself is quite common, the document is something you don't find every day.

Reading the document - I believe the medal was presented to an Austrian person ("Herr Leopold Elpel, Wien" - meaning Mr Leopold Elpel from Viena).

Many Germans were also recepients of this medal.

                          Bulgaian WW1 Commemorative medal doc.

Nice Bulgarian document and the latest I have ever seen. Note he was an Oberlt., so was fleshing out his medal bar. The 1915-18 medal was awarded to all who applied and served in WW1 & the docs were issued sequentially. Yours is the latest I have seen and the highest #, so we now know that at least 126,000 of the Bulgarian WW1 commemorative medals were issued to Germans.
If you ever want to sell that doc-please pm me.
