Kutuzoc 3:rd grade - real or copy?!

    Hi guys,

I have been offered this badge,if I get it right this should be a Kutuzov award of the 3:rd grade. Am I right?

And now of course I want to know if this is the real deal or a copy/fake as I have zero knowledge in Soviet awards.

Some of the pics are kinda bad,I know, but I can get more tomorrow if they are too bad to make a judgment.

    I appreciate any help.

    Thank you.

I'm not a fan of it, but I'll let others make a more definative call. This is a pretty expensive award to be starting Soviet collecting with!

Maybe you should get weight and measurements, too.

This is a very low quality fake, much below what they produce these days when they really try (which they often do...) It may not even be in silver, judging by its finish, and may not have been intended to pass as the real thing, at least when it was made. I wouldn't bother with weights and measurements.

I met a friend in the harbour of Tallinn last winter. He said he had something interesting to show me; it was a grocery bag full of copies like this one, plus Khelmnitski I class and Nevskys. All made from same heavy material, equally ugly, looks like crap but is still, obviously, possible to sell on eBay at prices 24.99 USD as long as there are people who rather buy 10 copies than 1 original. If you look, there are 4-5 sellers that have the exactly same orders, all located in Estonia... I wonder what the "factory" looks like where these are manufactured.
