Current model Chinese helmet

This is a very interesting helmet. Look how the cover is almost the same design (not pattern) as the German WWII covers. And the shape is very much like most Western Kevlar helmets.

Here is where it gets strange...the helmet is NOT kevlar. It is steel and not that heavy of steel either.

Why I don't know? But this is one of a few helmets currently in use in China today. I guess equipping a large army can be a problem?

Without the cover, it does look like a German WWII helmet.
