felix dzerzhinsky bust

Here is a bust of Iron Felix.
Perhaps not the best condition in the world, but one of these, or one like it, could probably be found in every KGB or Stasi office. God knows how many different busts of him were made.

This one has the seal of what I think is the Moscow Mint.
I bought this for $25.00 in this century, so I consider him a bargain!
Good for an Eastern front display!

The bust of Dzerzhinsky could stand even in a regular apartment. Busts of the leaders of the revolution in the USSR were sold a lot.

For some reason, I thought busts of Lenin and Stalin would be in the people's homes and apartments, but I didn't realize that Feliz Dzerzhinsky was also included in the busts that were kept!
But he was a hero of the Revolution and the original "Checkist" so I suppose he would be!

In the KGB and militia in the offices preferred to hang paintings with Iron Felix, in free sale such paintings I never met. Busts were of course the same way, but it is impossible to determine which bust was in the office and which in the apartment.
And besides chekists and militia, Felix still controlled numerous children 's houses and railway

I enjoy these Iron Felix busts and statues more than most any other common Soviet sculptures. He's usually presented in a more convincingly dashing light. At the same time, it has always seemed strange that people would have all these statues to a man who was chiefly credited for creating and heading the secret police.

The busts are simple but look very beautiful and meaningful. I love it!
