Both are fine late WWII production originals.

Red Star serial number puts it around late 1944 or early '45 and The Order of the Patriotic War second class would be early 1945.

          Thanks!

Thanks! One more question. The OPW has the screw plate with the dimples inside, the Red Star has a screw plate that is smooth inside. It the Red Star screw plate a replacement?

          Thanks again!

Is it also thicker, heavier and shinier? Then it's a later piece. Pics?

              Screw plates

This is the only photo of the screw plates, which I know isn't enough to answer my question. I asked and was told it did not have the dimples.

Both are good awards. With screwplates it is of no big deal. These were exchanged a lot by veterans. Remember the majority keeps wearing them till the present day. Nice awards

Agreed on all three counts. Additionally, original screwplates are not too difficult source, yet.
                  Thanks,

I used Igor's research service, which I highly recommend, to discover the back ground on the recipients. Interesting that the ORS was originally recommended as a OPW2 and down graded, but the OPW2 was originally recommended as a ORS and upgraded! Enjoy!
