PP Bln Mess Kit

Hello,

I am cleaning out my closet and found these two mess kits or cook pots. They were issued to the PP Bnl but I am quite sure they have been repainted.

So, experts, have these been repainted? If so, and if I were to repaint them, what color should I use?

Mike,

I can't comment on the colour of these mess tins for sure but PP Bln used helmets in similar colours at one point.

West Berlin Bepo used olive in earlier years (50s), then later see a mix of olive and the familiar blue grey. This look like original paint. Not sure, when the blue was adopted. The 50s canteens have brown covers and either olive or blue cups for examples, not blue covers like later production.
