What Is This Vest?

What is this vest for? Is it worth anything? It was in a load of mixed military clothing I picked up recently.

It's a 1980's Sturm modification.
He had many of the originals with damages in his VEBEG Lots and when the Ellbows or sleeves had damages, he converted them into Vests.


There is also a Moleskin Version.
A very funny thing was the Pionierweste (Engineers Vest)
with Aluminium rivets on the lower Rim.
Took me a while to find out what it was before.
the 2-Strap Duffle Bags.
BTW, the same was done with damaged Trousers, converted into Shorts.

BGS Sumpftarn jackets are also seen with the sleeves removed, but not the other modifications of this Filzlaus jacket. I assume Sturm did this as well because there's a rather large number of them out there.

In the early 90's when DDR Stuff was available in large quantities, the same was done with Rain Camo Stuff.
Interesting that you never saw them in new condition, only worn stuff.
Everything what couldn't repaired easy, was converted into other Stuff.
I also remember french CCE Stuff.
Don't know where my old Catalogs are, then it would be easy to spot them.
