Bosch Typ: HPK9 Lamps as used by LS, ZS, DRK Etc.

    Gentlemen,

Today we are going to explore the Bosch Typ: HPK Lamp as used in West Germany by civilian rescue and health organizations. The HPK 9 is made almost entirely of plastic. There are very few metal pieces and they will be obvious in the photos. There is a handle that in the pictures is sitting on top of the battery compartment. It can be extended to help in carrying the lamp. When carrying the lamp in ones hand the detachable lamp is attached to the battery case by a metal prong on the actual lamp head. This metal prong is inserted into a metal slot in the battery case. When the lamp head is attached to the battery case the black wire is coiled around the circular shape behind where the lamp head sits on the battery case.

The next helmet is one worn by the Feuerwehr. It is metal and has a heavy coating of reflective paint plus rank insignia. To attach the HPK 9 to this helmet you need to use a special strap.
