You won't find any list of Bundeswehr clothing etc. om line. You will need to buy some reference books and you will find a list of that is available currently at star of this sub forum.
You can also learn a lot about the individual artifact from the label inside. Here is a picture of the label in your field jacket and I'll explain what some of the numbers on the label mean.
"R.+A. BECKER" is the maker. The "Q" is the order number used to authorize the maker to make "x" number of these jackets. The 170/180-95 is the measurements of the jacket. The Bundeswehr
also uses a "size" number, "6" on the white tag in one of your pictures, rather than search through a bunch of size markings in a jacket. The "/84" indicates the year of manufacture. 8415-12-155-9079 is the NATO part number for this jacket.
8415 is for clothing. 12 is for Germany and the next two sets of number refer to this specific size of jacket bu have no real bearing on the actual size. Reine Baumwolle are self explanatory from what was said earlier.

Gordon, you forgot the Nato size what makes it easy for everybody to find out the right size.

Height from 170 to 180 cm
Chest from 95 to 100 cm
So they just left the 100's in the marking.
Makes sense as nobody in the 1army has a 70-80cm Height
That's what I allway's look to when somebody asks me for his size on Shows.
No 6, what is this? 7080/9500 tells me everyting, especially when you're also selling British or Canadian Stuff, where the Canadian 6 isn't a German 6, then the Underwear, there is also a 6, but different sized from the others.
BTW: You also find the Nato Size in Short drawers like the ones I have from the Dutch Army.

I agree! I wore out several trousers and wore a jacket (separate from the trousers!) for a while. My wife had a pair of trousers I bought for her and she loved it as well. Very much like soft denim, but tougher.


The cloth feels a little different and the color is a little "off", but the construction is 100% identical to 4th Model trousers. The label is the most important way to identify it as commercial production!

Well, we will see ;-) ! But yes, the early Bundeswehr stuff, for example Schirmmützen, are no more on a low price level. But most stuff is still cheap. On the other hand, the ex-DDR (GDR) stuff is climbing on and on.

By the way - did anyone know, if there is a faker of the old Parka? A time ago I was in a surplus shop that had had a large number of Bundeswehr and BGS Parkas. They were fitted with old/original liner in my opinion (or the label was a very good fake), but the Parkas itself seems to be brandnew and the "feeling" was different from the originals I know and I was wearing...

I have to disagree, recently I had one in my Hands, very thin fabric and a Funny NSN what was, by the 1st Number a Technical Item.

What did it look like? For sure 4th Model trousers exist in huge quantities and, like you say, the cloth doesn't feel right and the label is definitely wrong.

Yes, trousers are correct, you can also buy them from bloechl but as he was an official outfitter, i must say, I don't call them Fakes but maybe Repros or just later produced ones.
I remember something I had from Sturm in my Hands, there was also a fun-NSN marked. Can't remember what it was but for sure some clothing.

Yes, when an established contractor produces 99% identical items to government items, the line is very blurry. In the US we have a couple of large contractors that produce massive quantities of uniforms for the US military, but also produce the same uniforms under their name for the commercial market. The only difference? The commercial ones are manufactured in Central America to the same quality standards using US materials. There's no difference other than the labels. But to us collectors, that's a big difference

Correct for Collectors but I often sell them as Work Clothing so they don't care about.
These People just want something, realtively cheap, what doesn't fall apart after the 2nd washing.
In the near future I have to order some Parkas for somebody, then I can see how the quality is.
For US Clothing, I observed original Army Pants with Labels "Assembled in Honduras" from an Army outsouring, so not only the Civy Model comes from SA.

It is a little off topic, but all genuine US military clothing must be made in the US. That is the law since 1941 (Berry Amendment). Soldiers are also supposed to only wear issued clothing except for special circumstances. Therefore, in theory there should never be anything in the surplus system that is made in Honduras because the US government didn't purchase it and the soldier didn't have permission to wear it.

That said, we are talking about American soldiers, so rules are there to be broken. Back around 2005 I asked a Lt Colonel friend of mine at the Pentagon if he could get me a new ACU and he said the local PX didn't have them for domestic soldiers, however he suggested I purchase one from a commercial supplier just like he did

The point is that non-US made stuff is in the surplus system, definitely, but it's not official US military. Though nobody cares except for collectors who only want original items for their collection. For painting and working on cars? I use whatever is cheapest just like everybody else
