    BW Shoulder board question

I'm currently building my 80's Panzergrenadier displays and just picked up a pile of Olive-white Shoulder boards for fatigues..

    My Question..
Some of the sets have a more rounded woven end and others are more squared off.. are these variations meant to go on specific different clothing, such as shirt/pullover vs Moleskin or Parka or possibly just different manufacturer's variations ?

I'm well on my way with the Panzergrenadier display and will post when complete.

    Any opinions most welcome

    maybe

Though I cannot offer an educated answer it does look like the slip-on's curves are imitating the ends of the straps they are currently on.

100% manufacturer's variation. There were and are no different OD loops for different clothings.

Trying to find perfectly matching rank is a frustration of mine. There are a lot of variations over the years, including the material and color. Some of the changes are based on the period of manufacture, but I think most are just manufacturing differences as Proud Kraut said. I do suspect that some of the very minor differences might be because of BW specification changes, however the massive volume of the rank out there means we'd never be able to establish that without BW documents.

Finding matching used ones in the same condition is even more "fun" than finding matching new ones
