West German Postwar Uniform & Medal bar question

I believe this is postwar luftwaffe but could be way off.

Can anyone please confirm this uniform branch & rank (including the sleeve stripes) & approximate timeframe ?


Also these medals - can anyone make them out ?

I believe this man had KVK 1 +swords, Woundbadge, Ostfront.

uniform is for a Feuerwehr Brandmeister from either Niedersachsen or Schleswig-Holstein (lack of cap make this hard to determine). Sleeve insignia are for function - star in wreath possibly for Gruppenführer or Führer or Orts- or Kreisbrandmeister - these have different wreath shapes, which is difficult to see in fold of the sleeve. No idea for the 4 stripes.

Many thanks all for the information. I believe Schleswig Holstein would line up as he was living in Leck at this point I believe (this made me think of the Leck Airbase).

I agree this is a Feuerwehr uniform with two nice 57er award ribbon bars. Take a look at this thread in the 57er Forum that shows hundereds of photos of these post 1957 awards in wear. There are a few Feuerwehr folks along with some nice Polizei photos (particularly BGS). Lots of Bundeswehr pix, particularly KC wearers.
