Multinational rank

I saw this up on eBay today:

It is a standard velcro backed BW rank badge but divided up into three ranks:

1. Bundeswehr
2. US Army
3. NATO standard designation

I've seen other means of multinational rank clarification, but this is the first time I've seen this one. Very clever, I think!

Has anybody seen any evidence that this sort of rank has been used in Afghanistan at all? Or is this a fantasy piece made by someone?

Hello Steve,
it is a piece wich you can buy in Afghanistan on the local market for a few €-Cents.
It is common see that Soldiers wear them on the Left Sleeve of the Combat Shirt or in front of the Plate Carrier.

Yes, they are not official but I have seen them here in Germany in wear, too. There are a lot of army shops and ebay shops who are selling them.

I have to buy one set, too.
