    Marching medals-post what you have

    Gentlemen,

This marching medal saw the light of day after I did some "house keeping" in my collection rooms. It is date 1967 on the suspension and is for the first International Winter March held by the Reservisten in Wellenburg.
This is a disregarded area and there must be lots of marching medals that can be posted.

    Regards,

    Gordon

      Hi Gordon,

yes, there are many thousands of these medals. From the 60s up to the 90s and some later. In the 90s it changed more to cloth patches with award documents.
Some early medals from the 60s had been made in silver (e.g. 800); some are made in bronze, but most of the medals are made in zinc.

Here is one medal out of my collection from 1980 (25 years Bundeswehr):

Thanks for adding pictures of your medal. I'll try and add some more tomorrow.

Most of these came with insignia groupings I found at the local flea markets. It took some time to dig them out of my countless junk boxes, lol.

            Proud Kraut,

Great additions to the thread. Thanks a bunch.

            Uwe,

I have a meddle similar in design to yours. It is from 1983 and appears to be from the same reserve unit.

            Regards,

            Gordon

yes the Reservisten-Kameradschaft (R.K.) Epfenbach had some very nice medals, unfortunately I don't have all:

                Uwe,

Impressive. Almost a collecting interest in its own right. Thanks for posting them.

                Regards,

                Gordon
