Side Cap/ overseas cap info?

Hey guys,
So I was in a local flea market type shop and found this cap. I am having trouble figuring out information about it. Any info would be great. I know it's post war but year? Anything else? Also what kind of patch or badge would go on this? I only paid $1. So not to worried about input! Thank you all very much!

This is a private purchase (i.e. higher quality) sidecap for a mid grade Heer officer (2nd Lt through Colonel). Most likely from the 1960s or very early 1970s. Pity about the damage.

Normally the officer types have a "Handgesticht" roundel as seen on the hat of this blog:

However, yours appears that it might have had the standard bevo type like this:
