    Any ideas on this patch?

Looks like the German flag colors to the right side. I could be wrong.

Yes, it's the German flag on the right. Does not look like a specific unit's patch and I don't know if it is even military.
Maybe it's something like a Volksmarch, sports or partnership anniversary patch? I'm only guessing.

The construction is consistent with US badging from the wartime to 1960s timeframes. It's possible it is LSU or one of the specialized units designed to help facilitate functions of the allied forces operating on German soil:

Having said that, units had 4 digit identification numbers and I don't see any higher commands that are numbered 15. But I took a quick look at something I am not an expert in so it's very possible I missed something. Or it has nothing to do with these organizations

This insignia looks like a "merrowed edge" patch. Apart from a very few exceptions these came up in the late 1960's earliest.

              p-59a,

If you are looking for this badge in the LSU site that Steve posted you won't find it there. I have never seen anything like this badge in use in the LSU.
Sorry Steve but I do not think this badge is from the LSU.

              Regards,

              Gordon

                Gordon,

"merrowed" is a term to describe the kind of manufacturing patches for US forces since the late 1960's

See examples of "merrowed" edge/border patches on the left of this picture.

Yup, that's my thinking too. It was the only guess I could come up with that would tie this to a military use of some sort. I'm out of ideas

I still have no ideas what this is. It strikes me as having a 60's to early 70's look. Could it be some U.S. and German joint participation exercise?
