Bereitschaftspolizei Berlin 1961

Hello to the BRD forum!
I’ve been a member of the DDR forum and a DDR collector since 2009. Lately I’ve been focusing more on the 1961 Berlin Crisis and have decided to include some West Berlin Polizei (and Soviet military) items in my collection. I’d like to ask if there are members here who can steer me to helpful threads or maybe to German language forums with a Berlin Polizei focus.

I have found some threads about the Tschakos of the Bereitschaftspolizei , some good 1961 photos of West Berlin BePos and some good info on PP Berlin markings on headgear & equipments but my topic searches have not turned up any threads or posts with examples of preserved ca. 1961 uniforms, footwear, field gear, etc. Any suggestions?

Are there any German language forums catering to BRD Polizei collectors?

Hi and welcome to forum!

there is unfortunately no German language forum, that specialise in BRD. Closest to that would be the "Ausrüstung" subforum on multi-board, but Bundeswehr is main interest there. Militaria Fundforum has a few topics about BRD too, but not much about West Berlin.

There has been discussion of fieldgear, y-straps, etc. in several threads, search the BRD subforum here for "West Berlin". I have a few early photos, that I could share as well. Hope this help.

I took your advice and searched "West Berlin" on this forum. It turned up the thread on the Y-straps. Very helpful! I would enjoy seeing your early photos, if you care to post or send them.
