There are 3 of the 'coconut' type marked HRE 57, and Ritter DRGM, 1 lacquered with the green paint 'coconut' type,
1 of the early 57 dated WW2 type, 1960 dated cup. 1 of the 61 style with leather strap and Assmann marked clip. Need more Pictures just ask and I'll provide. Meanwhile enjoy. When I get time I'll post my Mess Kit collection, Bread bags as well. Thanks all.

Nice collection! Shame that the Bw coconut miss the cup. Not sure what organisation the coconut with light green straps is, but seem to appear on ebay regularly lately.

            Coconut

            Hi Klaus,

Regarding the light brown straps: could it be for early ZB use? The Colour reminds me of the other ZB-items...

            Best regards

              Rainer,
had not considered that. Was such canteen used by ZB/THW? Simon mentioned once, that RP Katastrophenschutz were issued standard Bw version.

                Coconut

                Hi Klaus,

I´m only presuming. I´ve only seen the standard M31 Canteen with khaki-brown cup and the BGS-late-type canteen in brown up to now. This brown colour was typical for ZB-items, and they use breadbags, smocks etc. in the 50ies, so why shouldn´t they use the 57 coconut? Seems like we have to wait for a picture of it in use...

                Best regards

                Reiner

I suspect, that other organisations also used them. Without evidence is hard to say unfortunately. Hard to determine cup colour from the photos, could be black or bluegrey?

                  Regards

                    BW canteens

Sorry for the delay in response, I have a stupid thing called work...
The canteen has a black cup with Berlin Police stampings to answer the question about color.
                    Thanks. D.L.

Cup probably added later. West Berlin not use such model (that I know). Most of these type coconut canteens, that I have seen for sale had no cups.

                      Regards
