Huge load of BW-items, incl. early ones. Need help!

    Good afternoon gents!

Recently, I landed a 56-pieces-lot of items, mostly West German (apart from about 15 East German and American pieces). Now as this is obviously still not my cup of tea, I'd like to ask you all to help me out a bit!

I'll post the pictures down here and I'd like to know as much about the items shown as possible. I've got dates on most of 'em, but apart from that I'd like to know what organisation the items belonged to, who would've worn them - and, yes I know it's something we don't like all the time, are there any items that are worth something? I'd like to sell most of the items off, so please tell me what a fair price would be.

Apart from that, please also enjoy the items for reference et cetera. The ones that I know something off will just be posted here for your enjoyment and information.

    1. Cap for cabin pilots of the Deutsche Lufthansa, 1973. I really like the look of this one!

    2. Caps for police officers? No idea of ranks and time of wear, so please add information! The one on the left (by maker Helvetia) is made of a lighter tint of green than the one on the right...

    3. Luftwaffe soldiers, I guess? On the left is a cap, size 61 from 1963. The two others are very nice, especially the one on the far right - it has a really pleasing style.

    4. Army soldiers, land forces I guess. Thinking officers of about the Hauptmann rank? The one on the left is a size 60 from 1956 (!).

    5. More army! Great style again, especially on the one on the right! Thinking high ranked officers? The one on the left is older, I guess (looking at the sweat shield and the darker grey colour)?

    6. Artillery soldiers?? Red piping.

      7. Several Gebirgsjäger M43's. The one on the right (pictured more detailled) is, according to the text inside, the earliest version? Has nice silver embroidery on top. The other two seem newer to me.

      8. Bundesmarine cap and one "Uberzug" for Matrose. Am I right to say the cap is from 1959? The cap seems to be lined with some plastic on the inside...?

          And more!

          12. "Bamberger Mützen Industrie" from 1966, "Bamberger Mützen Industrie" from 1965, "Mützenfabriek Bebra" from 1980.

          13. Left to right, top to bottom! Gray piping from 1965, orange-ish piping from 1966, carmine/bordeaux piping with metal cockade (no idea of date, seems privately purchased?), white piping from 1967, blue piping from 1968, yellow piping from 1967, green piping from 1966. What weapons are these colours from?

          14. Top to bottom: no manufacturor and/or date, "Kleiderkasse der BW" without date, "Kleiderkasse der BW" without date. First is named to a Major, the last one to a Lieutenant.

          15. "Janus & Co." from 1963, "Kleiderkasse der BW" without date, "Kleiderkasse der BW" without date. All named.

            Assorted items.

            16. Garrison cap for a member of the Deutsche Jugendfeuerwehr.

            17. Compass from the late 40's? Can't read the date in the stamp. Nice item, still working, too!

            18. Any idea where this one is from? Guessing Red Cross from some country...

Thanks in advance for any and all help, really appreciated!

                    Now that is a haul

                    Starting from bottom to top...

                    1. Zoll (Customs) peaked hat, not BGS. Probably from 1950s or very early 1960s. This one is for NCO ranks. Very rare, but there's not a huge demand for these things.

                    2. ZB (disaster services) goggles in pouch. Not too difficult to find.

                    3. Compass for some sort of federal service (BUND), but uncertain who. Hard to tell from the picture, however it appears to be Bundeswehr issue. Likely from 1960s or 1970s, definitely not 1940s.

                    4. Yes, that is red cross. Could be German.

                    5. Wool Schiffen type hats are called "Filzlaus" and were used from 1959 through the early 1970s. The Moleskin type used from 1960s through 1990s. The latter are a dime a dozen, the Filzlaus ones are fairly easy to get but moth damage is an issue.

                    6. The Schiffen with piping are from the 1960s as the piping was dropped late 1960s. Certain branches are harder to find than others. You can easily find a chart of the branches on the Internet. With only a couple of exceptions they are the same today as they were in the 1960s.

                    7. The officer ones look to be two Heer and one LW. Values aren't high on these either.

Oops! Out of time. I'll let someone else fill in the blanks

                    Steve

just to complement what Steve said, the red cross cap is 60s or 70s West German DRK (DDR DRK is different) and compass is Bundeswehr.

For the police caps at top, the left cap is pre 1976 pattern for Rheinland-Pfalz Polizei, based on materials, probably late 60s-early 70s. The right cap is post 76 model for Anwärter and Mittlerer Dienst (candidates and other ranks) of BGS worn until recently, but with replaced pre-76 Landespolizei star on it. BGS marking is visible on maker shield however, so should have the "altgold" star with Bundesadler instead. Possibly 1970s manufacture.

                      Regards
                      Klaus
