Verdienstmedaille der BRD - Medal of the Order of Merit of the BRD

Hi,

got this "Verdienstmedaille des Verdienstordens der Bundesrepublik Deutschland". The Medal of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

It is an older production made by Steinhauer & Lück, it has a flat slightly granulose enamel.

Might be nothing special, but I thought it would have been worth to be shown.

Alex,

Nice cased medal to have. Fewer of these are available than other classes of this award. Possibly because fewer were awarded. The vast majority I see for sale are without the case.

I think the medals of this award look nicer than the crosses, actually. The only drawback is that the ribbons of the Federal Merit awards look so ghastly, in my opinion.
