Just a guess... but it looks like a veteran's pin for a Panzergrenadier association. Perhaps not even for a specific unit.

Hi,

any chance that the emblem shows a 'HS 30' (earlier model of an armored personnel

carrier of the 'Federal German Army/Bundeswehr)' ?

If so, it could be an emblem of mechanized forces having been stationed in

'Braunschweig' after 1956 ....

The Cat (a Leopard) and vehicle suggests Panzer Jäger. The current pocket badge of PzJgKp 20 has a similar image in the design, and was (is) in Braunschweig.

I'm with Wolf on this one. Looks like a stylized HS 30 with the "Braunschweiger Löwe" (Brunswik lion). Could very well be a forerunner of an "Internes Verbandsabzeichen" (pocket hanger) of a unit located there. Don't forget the manufacturer's marker.

Yep, Lion it is, on many of the pocket badges from units in the area, but, standing differently to the one posted.
