Great addition this weekend: Sandfarben Uniform

    Hey guys,

this weekend I got two sandfarben Jackets, two pairs of trousers and two shirts.

Both jackets are stamped 1/62 and have the rare pointed boards.
    Both trousers are stamped 6/66.

Unfortunately there was no visor cap or side cap to the uniforms.

According to the seller, they didn´t wear collar tabs on their jackets when they were trained in the USA...

    I hope you like it.

    Regards,
    Stefan

Very nice!! There seems to be more of these around in the last few years than earlier times. The jackets and shirts are not as hard to find as the trousers. The sidecaps are not that difficult to find, but of course the Schirmmützen are EXTREMELY hard to find. And very expensive when they do come up for sale.

I would like to learn more about collar tabs. I know the Luftwaffe members wearing the uniforms wore collar tabs, though perhaps not in the USA? What about Heer?

        Hello Steve,

The wearer of the jackets was a member of the Luftwaffe.
He was trained at the Starfighters in the USA.

        Regards,
        Stefan

Interesting. I wonder why service in the US had different regulations from use in other areas, such as Italy or Greece?

            Hi Stefan,

            I don't understand that:

"... they didn´t wear collar tabs on their jackets when they were trained in the USA..."

I cannot find anything about such a regulation.

Do you have an official source for it?

            Uwe

              Hi Uwe,

I can only say what he said: "Wir (seine Einheit) haben an unseren sandfarbenen Uniformen keine Kragenspiegel in den USA getragen."

In english: "We (his military unit) didn't wear collar tabs on our sandfarben uniforms in the USA.

Unfortunately I don't have an official source for it.

              Regards,
              Stefan
