I picked this Beer Stein up in a local thrift shop. It appears to be of high quality, not a tourist item. I could use help with translation, time era, maker etc. I hope I have this posted in the correct forum. Thanks in advance and thanks for looking! daniel tarr817j

Okay Daniel, I'll give it a try:

"Gut gezielt ist halb getroffen" = Well-aimed is half-hit
"Sichere Hand, die Augen offen" = Firm hand and open eyes

I would say this is a typical civilian shooting club stein. A quick google research told me that there is a manufacturer "Marzi & Remy" using M R labeling. Maybe this one was made by them? Regarding the era someone else might help out here.

It looked modern to me so I looked up the manufacturers markings. The mark on the bottom of your stein was used from 1964 onward.
