    first four photos are BGS winter parka in moosgrün (moss green), these were introduced sometime in 1980s to replace the older Sumpftarn model and worn until 2000s. The camo parkas were worn long after the camo field uniforms were eliminated in late 1970s. From label, could be 1988? It is good one with liner and original sleeve insignia (shoulder rank misses), but not so rare.

    Camo piece is Sumpftarn rain poncho with date 1970. These were made late 60s and 70s, but I have yet to see period photo of them. Usually Zeltbahn was worn instead. Very common to find.

    Not sure about other jacket, have never seen it. I collect mostly 1950s BGS, so admit, that I am not as familiar with 1970s uniforms. Appear to be dated 1974 and had once BGS sleeve insignia. Some kind rain jacket, maybe for GSE?

    Regards
    Klaus

      thanks a lot man,your very helpfully.what about the 5th and 6th? i might have to retake pic on it. i do know all it had was the german flag on the side with no "D" rings or pen/pencil flap. similar to the moleskin but i don't know, im goin off pictures i saw in the moleskin thread. i couldn't find the tag for the parka but did for the liner, might be the 60's or 70's? the last 4 are a different jacket that did have the BGS on it but it has a removable collar that cotton/poly and its gortex. when did germany use gortex? i don't know anything about GSE...

        sorry, photos are confusing. 5 and 6th photo appear to be standard Bundeswehr parka from 1974. The goretex jacket is the BGS Überziehjacke (winter overjacket) from 1990s. Worn mostly on patrol. GSE = Grenzschutzeinzeldienst (passport control), they sometimes had special issue uniform articles from regular BGS. However, your jacket was worn by all BGS personal, that was only theory.

                It's hard to tell from the last photo, but the Goretex jacket could possibly be something other than BGS. Look on the left arm and if you see stitch marks for two badges then it is BGS, one badge and it's Polizei, no badges and it's Zoll.

                  i dont know what Zoll is,seem i need more research. i have to plan to try and get "behind the Wall", referred as a good read. i believe it was as Klaus1989 said it has marks left from what seem to be BGS but, did anybody else use older decommissioned BGS stuff?

                    Zoll = Customs

                    The jacket is 100% BGS because of the patch outlines. Zoll and foresters used similar jacket, but the patch traces would be different - for Zoll on the left breast, forestry on sleeve, but without arch. Zoll would also not have shoulderboard loops like this jacket. Not sure if Polizei used this model, but if they did, also would have no arch.

                      Yup, your closeup confirms that this is BGS (as Klaus just did).

                      Klaus, Polizei used a jacket similar to this with two chest pockets vs. one. I'm not sure if they used a jacket with only one pocket. But as we have both said, the stitching is the easy way to tell what the jacket was used for and what it wasn't.
