Development of the white Bundesmarine shoes

Today I had the chance to pick up a pair of unissued 1978 made shoes out of Bundesmarine stock. These are ment to be worn with the white mess dress. As I already have a 1957 made pair i thoughtt hey were a "must have" ...

Sadly they are only size 290. Would have been nice summer shoes for the office ....

Nice comparison of these white navy shoes. Now I need a pair of the late issue shoes as I have a pair of the earlier ones. It looks as though both pairs of shoes were cloth covered. True? Some of the readers might not notice that the earlier shoes Jens pictured have a cloth finish over the leather shoes.
