    Walther PP Super Holster Question?

    Gents,

Can anyone tell me what the West German Police holster for the Walther PP Super looked like? These pistols, in 9x18 Ultra/Police caliber, were carried by various German state police agencies in the 1970s but I do not know what the proper holster for one of them looked like. I am particularly interested in the Rheinland-Pfalz Polizei holster.

    Thanks.

    SCHUPO,

A most difficult question to answer for any polizei. I often look for this kind of info with little to know success. Here is a place you might start though. There is a post on this thread of a Rhine-Pfalsh police uniform with a holster and the poster says the uniform is from the 70s

The other thing I found on the net was a holster that is supposed to have been used with the Walther PP Super but there was no police force mentioned. You have probably seen this holster before. Or at least this type worn by polizei in contemporary pictures. I know I have.

    Regards,

    Gordon

Thanks Gordon. I could not get the link to work but I have seen the style of holster that you show. I think this is along the right track but I never had a pistol to try in one of these holsters. Now I have a R-P property marked pistol but no holster.

      Frustrating isn't it?

        George,

The link works now. I had left the "h" off "http" at the beginning of the link when I cut and pasted it into the post. I think the holster that I posted a picture of is probably later than you are looking for but not sure. Probably for wear when just in shirt sleeves.
There is a series of self published books on different State police organizations in Germany since the war. I've read a number of reviews of some of these books but it never says whether they contain holster info or not and I have't wanted to spend the money necessary just to find out. There is the one R-P.
And yes it is frustrating trying to figure out what holster was worn by which police force and when.

        Regards,

        Gordon

Thanks Gordon, I can see it now. That style of closed flap holster is what I suspect was worn by regular uniformed officers while the low slung swivel style shown above I suspect was worn with tactical gear. I have been wrong before though. I guess I am just going to have to try to fit the PP Super into either of those style of holsters to be certain. It is certainly too big for a standard PP holster.

            George,

While we are talking holsters, have you seen this one before? I bought it as a German police holster some time ago but identification has eluded me. Because it was called that doesn't mean that it actually was German. It would appear to hold a fairly large handgun. There are no markings of any kind on this white holster.

            Regards,

              George,

Here is the swivel holster with a PP in it. Don't know which type.

                Gordon,

The white one is a new one on me. Never seen this one before but perhaps for a tool?

Yes this black holster is for the standard 7,65 Walther PP. The PP Super is a larger 9mm pistol so it would not fit.
