Early first generation jacket for officers

Some years ago I pucheased a set of the early, straight oak leaves from S. Stephan to have this early items for my collection, accompanied by some of the early "alrgold" rank stars from the same source. Since that point of time I had the idea to mount them on a jacket once. As these oakes were already replaced by July of 1957 this was a quite difficult task as most surviving jackets of the first generation - no matter if the short Affenjacke of the long two pocket tunic - are made after 07/1956. Finally I managed to find a two pocket tunic made in June 1956 so the poject could start...

And as information for those now thinking of a "fake": Yes, for sure this jacket is put togehter. Everything is unissued stock including the jacket, but at one point some moron decided to equip this never worn jacket with very ugly private purchase collar tabs, unit patch and some modern rank stars. Luckily the stuff was sewn very loose and the jacket was kept away from light so there was no fading under the insigniy. But several holes in the shoulderboards... So equipping it with contemporary insignia was the best way tohandle it. especially as it has the right date for the insignia !.

            Jens,
very nice piece! I am not very familiar with very early Bw (1955/56), so had not known this insignia variation existed.

            Regards

              Jens,

Nice looking jacket. Still trying to complete my collar insignia from this period.

              Regards,

                Hu,

Stephan wrote me, that there had been three different makers of the "Eichenlaubbalken".

I bought my pair from Stephan decades ago, and I added a pair from ebay later from a private seller.

See the differences; the lower one is from Stephan, made by Overhoff:

                  Uwe,

Interesting differences. I'll have to visit Stephan's site and see if he has any left.
Where there any differences in the stars used during this period compared to those used later? I am assuming they would be the 17 mm sized stars?

                  Regards,

                  Gordon

Gordon, Stephan, or more precise his daughter now running the bussines, offers both items on ebay. If I remember right (will have to look when at home...) the stars are identical with the later, silver ones...

Here is what the complete set of Truppengatungsabzeichen looks like. The picture is from the DHM site. Plus a picture of those that I have in my collection to date.

These badges have large prongs on the back to affix them to the collar.

Thanks Gordon, but I am already familiar with the "Sanella" in early days of Bw. I referred to the straight oakleaves instead of wreath on officer shoulderboards, that I had not noticed before.
