Need Help with an early Uniform

    Hey guys,

I collect early Bundeswehr and I hope you can help me with a question.

    Someone offered me a "Königin-Luise-Bluse".
The jacket still has the old "Sanella-Abzeichen" for Infanterie (crossed rifles) but the buttons on the jacket are silver.
I think that the buttons on the old jackets were always "altgolden"?

The jacket also has a badge for "Luftlandetruppen" on the right sleeve. The rank is "Hauptfeldwebel" but the collar has a aluminium cord. Is that normal?

I hope you can help me.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

Stefan, reading your description I think that your jacket is a reconverted piece done by someone quite uninformed ... the Sanellas were only used for quite a sure time but the silver buttons appeared in the 60ies. So this combination is a no go. Also silver cord at the collar plus NCO rank insignia is nonsense...

Taking this into account the price would be of interest ... if the textile is o.k. and moth free and the Sanellas are o.k. it would be a good base for a real restauration if its not too expensive... and don`t forget that there are near to zero of these jackets which survived in their original configuration. Near to all were modernized as they were only 1 year old as the collar tabs were invented!

      Hi Stefan,

and in the "Sanella-Abzeichen" period there was no Hauptfeldwebel.

        Thanks for your answers.

Jens, the seller want 200€. I think that's too expensive for a reconverted piece.
The jacket never had collar tabs just Sanellas and is moth free.

I'm looking for a officers affenjacke or Königin Luise Bluse for a long time but it's very hard to find something like that.

Adding to what Jens said, most of the jackets seen on eBay or in collections that have "Sanella-Abzeichen" are on 1956 jackets with dates later than the change to Kragenspiegel Abzeichen. The change was in April 1956, IIRC, so any jacket dated later than that for sure never had Sanella Abzeichen on it in real life.

This jacket is definitely not worth EUR 200.

Steve, to my information the straight oakleaves were dropped that early. The Sanellas were replaced from mid 1957 onwards.

Stefan, thats quite expensive ! Even for a authentic / realistically restored piece 200,- would be a seller friendly price! A good stripped jacket of this type, depending on your description even without the cord around the choulder boards, should cost less then 80,- , the crossed rifles go for 25,- to 60,- a pair depending on how crazy two bidders are ...

              Thanks for your answers.

I will wait for a non reconverted jacket of the Affenjacke or Königin Luise Bluse.

              Probably the next 10 years

                Hi,

the change from the metallic "Truppengattungsabzeichen" to the "Kragenspiegel" was in December 1956/January 1957.

The change from the "altgoldene Eichenlaubbalken" to the "chromfarbene halbkreisförmige Eichenlaubabzeichen" was in July 1956.

All that is based on the official published decrees.

December 1956? Wow. That is much later than I remember.

Semi-related, I found a Viertaschenrock with a label marked 9/56. It was on eBay along with a matching service shirt, necktie, hat, and first model belt. The shirt and tie were dated June 1956 and July 1956 respectively. Experimental model?
