    Unknown shoulder boards your help please .

    HI can some clever guys let me know what branch of service these are and what time period please ?

    These are GDR NVA shoulder boards of a Feldwebel, worn on the Feldanzug by all branches until 1990.

      Am I correct in saying that on all post 1945 shoulder boards the bottom piece of tress ( the opposite end to the button ) is always stitched under the two side lengths all thewar time examples Ive looked at the corners are mitred ??

      any help will be great

        Your boards are the standard ones. Different styles do exist as well:

          GDR shoulder-boards

          Hello Michael,

          until the early 60´s the boards are manufactured like the old wehrmacht ones, the lower tresse band sewn above the others. Then, because of economy reasons, it was put under them. The later boards are a tad smaller, too.
