    Mystery BW uniform

I purchased this uniform on German eBay a few months ago. I have no idea what it is! My guess is a work uniform for civilian contractors of the Bundeswehr. The color seems compatible and it explains why I've never seen it in books or collections about BW uniforms. Certainly it is a work uniform of some type.

Anybody know for sure what this is?

    Thanks!

    Steve

Yes, a work Suit, but for everybody working in Workshops, like Carpenters, Metal Shop etc. For Soldiers & Civies.

Thanks for the confirmation Nico! Do you know what dates this uniform was manufactured? The two pieces I have show it was made before and after the 1963 transition period, but I have no idea when production started and stopped. Are these very rare? It's the first one I've seen.

A working suit .... o.k, makes sense, the fabric is quite similar to civilian working textiles.

...and by knowing this I went through my Andernach book in which on the pages 87 to 97 several soldiers working on differentvehicles and machinery are wearing a suit not identified until now... doing so I see that there is at least a second, depending on the date of the pictures older version of this suit with a third pocket on the breast. Alo it is clearly visible, that this suit is worn above the HBW working suit ! So another suit to be chased ....
