during the republic did german firefighters have stripes as a rank? and more helpful is if you can guys can please post photos of fireman tunics during this period

Not all Feuerwehr organizations wore the same rank insignia but there was a significant amount of standardization. So, to answer your question, yes. Here is a picture of bars in wear plus one rank chart for bars.

The rank charts. This rank chart does not match the insignia worn in the picture above. As I said earlier, not every Feuerwehr organization wore used the same rank insignia.
