Günther Rall Uniform??

There is a uniform on eBay.de claiming to be Günther Rall's uniform.

Apparently someone else thinks it is and is willing to pay a high premium for it. The jacket on its own is probably worth EUR 400 on its own. Even that might be a little high. It certainly is a very nice jacket that looks to be all original.

Be careful.....same seller just sold some of his medals for 1500 euros. it was a mix of fake stuff mostly. The RK was an original but not worth 1500 euros !!!! Tom

What a cool guy, saw him speak and got a copy of his book, I remember at his appearance at an airshow he was asked if he had ever been in a B-17 and he said: "No, but I have been around them"

I tend to be very pessimistic when it comes to these things.

If you look at photos of Gen Rall, you'll see several glaring errors between the uniforms being worn in the photos and the uniform up for sale.

Among other things: look where the rank stars are placed; look at the ribbon bar loops; and look at the photos of the General insofar as his physical stature and then look at the uniform.

Provenance is a signature on the interior of the jacket which just happens to have damage in the exact place that labels/names are often located??
For E$2500, I think I'd want a little more proof.

I'd want a LOT more proof. In fact, for EUR 2500 a DNA sample would be a good start

Yes...the seller did a half assed job of putting this "stuff" together. Pretty common these days, trying to rip off the dumb ones ! AND NO real provenance at all !! Tom
