    Rivets on German Gefechtshelm

    Hello all,

here a litle question about the rivets on the german Gefechtshelm.

I saw differen types of rivets - the round, a flat oval and a angular type.

Here a Picture of the 3 types.

I even wore a helmet with the flat oval rivets during my time at the Bundeswehr. But also saw the the round ones.

    Maybe someone have an answer.

    Habe de Ehre,

I think it depends on the producer.
I have witnessed the flat round rivet (second picture) on Induyco made helmets and the typ shown on the first photo on Schuberth helmets.
IMO the 3rd photo shows a Schuberth rivet as well.

      Thank you Phil,

that sounds plausible! My helmet was indeed a Schuberth.

I have a Schuberth Helmet with rivets of the second type:

On the other hand, this is an export helmet, made by Schuberth for the Belgian army, and it has rivets of the first type:

Hmm thats strange - maybe the change over the years?

I saw all three rivets on "Bund" marked Helmets - and as i told before i wore a Schuberth with the flat rivets at my serive time in the Bundeswehr.

Even the Fallschirmjägerhelm of the Bundeswehr has these flat rivets.

My issued helmet has the flat round rivets (got it in 2007).
It's completely unmarked so I don't know the producer.

            Cheers,

I think I'll print out that photo and put it between my collection of Bundeswehr helmets
