    BGS breeches

I am desperate to buy these in 36" waist. Silverman's has only 30-32"
Why are these so bloody hard to find?1
All I could find was one pair on a German website:
    http://www.zenker-militaria.de/epage...lduniformen%22
    Far overpriced!
Does anybody know where to find these? I am really looking to buy them, my limit being about £65

I don't know what those trousers are, but for sure it's not BGS unless the color of that photo is *way* off. I don't recognize it as Polizei either, though Berlin and Niedersachsen had uniforms in that color range.. With only that one picture to go on more info would be needed. Especially a better look at the color.

Similar looking trousers are existing with BW labeling ... afaik purchased to equip sport rideres from BW sport units. Like in some winter sports (Biatlon, sledge, etc) riding on olympic level is part of the BW sports organisation...

Silvermans are selling them as "German army breeches" but only small waist. And a German company metions "They originate from the BGS" and nothing more.
They are Stone-gray in colour, such as early war.

I agree with Jens - Bw riding trousers for sport units. The colour match as well. BGS riding trousers are different cut, lack proper reinforcement at least on later ones and either mossgreen (1970s-2001) or beige (2001-late 2000s). The BGS ones, that I have seen are tapered like some type of elastic Keilhosen and not the wide cut in thigh with tapered leg only.

I am not aware of mounted units in early BGS, as they are develop of more modern riot control efforts - so in early grey-green colour not exist (unless privately made for riding competitions?).

Here some for sale in mossgreen from German surplus dealer.

Same seller have the Bw Reithose. Claim, that Feldjäger wore them for motorcycle escort, but thought, that was different uniform. Only EUR 54,99...

Since the colors in the photo appear accurate, then I think we can safely dismiss the notion this is BGS. It's not correct for BGS. Like Klaus, I'm unaware of trousers like this except for green and beige types. I have seen some for various Polizei forces, especially in the 1950s I think. I also have some Swiss ones that are similar to this, but with darker gray fake leather.

IMO the color and fabric look a lot like Austrian Bundes Heer. Maybe from the 1960s or even 70s.
