    Martin,

Not sure what information it is that you are looking for. The book itself is the 40 year history of FALLSCHIRMJAEGER KAMERADSCHAFT HANNOVER " GENERAL SCHLEMM ".

    Regards,

    Gordon

              Guys,

Sorry, I am aware of who General Schlemm is, I was wondering what the connection was to the FALLSCHIRMJAEGER KAMERADSCHAFT HANNOVER ??

              Cheers

                Hi Martin,

it could be, that all (or the most) members of this "Kameradschaft" had been former members of the 1st Parachute Amy.

Schlemm lived near Hannover, and it could be, that he was some time a member of the Kameradschaft up to his death in 1986.

Is there nothing to find in the booklet about him?

                Uwe

                  Totenhead,

There is another organization in the Bund Deutscher Fallschirmjäger e. V. in Westnordrhein-Westfallen that uses “Gen. Trettner" (bio below) as part of the name of their organization so possibly these General's names were used to honour former commanders as Uwe says.

                  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Trettner

                  Regards,

                  Gordon

                    Hi Uwe

Sorry, I cannot read German and there are 40 pages or so, and all in German.
I can only find him mentioned once in a list with other names, I am assuming they formed the group.

I will scan some pages in if I may, I acquired this with a lot of other books and things, some signed by Kurt Student and Finzel

Cheers for the all the help !

                    Danke
                    Martin

These are a few pages I scanned in.

The book belonged to a British WW2 Paratrooper Veteran, Douglas Wellington.
I believe he became friends with WW2 FJ Veterans after the war, he lived in Germany for a while, he also was friends with Kurt Student amongst other people.
I have a number of signed books and photographs that were given to him by Kurt Student and the FJ vets

I noticed his name in these pages, would it be possible someone could translate please ?

                        Danke

                          Hi Martin,

as I assumed, General Schlemm was a member of the Kameradschaft.

There is written on page 27/28:

"In remembrance of the (died) comrades:
                          ...
                          Alfred Schlemm and his wife
                          ...
They live on in the memory of the comrades."

I think, that Schlemm had the highest rank in the comradeship, and they honored him posthumous.

                          Uwe

Does anybody have an example of his signature, I think he may have signed one of the books I have

Look here. Not a very good signature but perhaps it is good enough to compare with the one that you have.
