......and now the dressed display ! finished off with a pair of British "WD" arrowed binoculars.....Some items added since completion, belt, torch and helmet net (faded out BGS one !)..................the belt may not be BW but possibly BGS/Police ? comments/corrections welcome....
I hope you like it, now to complete my "Filzlaus" 1960's Panzergrenadier display.......
Prost ! Steve.
and more...........Can any one I.D. the belt, it has a loop fitted to the rear, nothing has been removed from the front, it in as new condition, seller in Germany said it was a paratrooper trials piece ?
Prost ! Steve.
The very early Bundeswehr equipment and clothes are a very interesting collecting field.
I am sure that this field will grow more and more the next years!
Many thanks for showing your great BW collection Steve.
@hard work: Some years ago it was really hard work to bring together all this items. Nothing showed up on ebay ... But since early BW stuff is of interest for collectors all over the world it is not longer a hard job as mostly everything is frequently at ebay. Nowadays its only an expensive enterprise ...
Only a very few items stay rare - like the mentioned folding spade. The model 1956 turned up at egun some weeks ago without the carrying device... the auction ended at 200,- !!
Nice display! Early Bw is very interesting, but not too easy to collect. Once I can buy pair of boots, will have complete BGS display from same time period (if one think early Bw is hard!).

I admit, I am not Bw expert, as it not my collecting area, but thought this was one of a couple early Bw field belts models?? Certainly not Polizei or BGS, as you speculated in earlier post.
The green version of this belt with laquered fittings and the aditional loop is identified as made for the police, especially worn with a certain wireless set. the belt is ment to hold the bettery pack as I remember correct. The BW only had this belt in a bluish grey with golden, shiny fittings as it was ment to be worn with the dress uniform olny. Due to intense use thes belts are often faded to a bright lightgrey, sometimes the fittings are coloured as in realiy it was worn with the field dress too...
Klaus, following ebay (and other plattforms) BGS combines the former problem of BW with todays problem: BGS stuff turns up seldom, if so it gets very expensive ...
Jens, thanks for advice and knowledge on the belt, but I tyhought the Police radio/battery belt also had a fitting on the front of the belt as well as at the back, this belt only has a ring & loop fitted on the back, there is no sign of any other fittings on the front, nor any signs of any being fitted.............see image below.
As Jens said :- "The BW only had this belt in a bluish grey with golden, shiny fittings as it was ment to be worn with the dress uniform olny. Due to intense use thes belts are often faded to a bright lightgrey, sometimes the fittings are coloured as in realiy it was worn with the field dress too"
As shown in the first images on this thread....................
Prost ! Steve.
Steve, I have to go through my reference material when at home ... but following several discussions on this green belt type and without any link to this type in use by the BW im really sure that this is also police. Another fact about this green belt is that most (or all?) of them come from one source and are N.O.S. ...
By the way ... my late 50ies setup is equipped with the 1959 modell belt with the open buckle ... a combination found very often on pictures. I´ll only have to take a picture ....

Thanks for your comments Jens......How lucky you are to have the open buckle ! I sadly do not, as yet...........going back to the green belt, I did infact think it Police when I bought it, but as it did not fit the radio belt profile, I gave it the benefit of the doubt !
I shall put my salty old light grey one back on !
Prost ! Steve.
Going through my HD I found two pictures discussed on multiboard showing the green belt in two slightly different versions plus the BW belt ... the clasp in the front looks as if it could be removed easily...
