Hello not a collector of these kind of item per se but I have a original P-1 the was BMI issued from May of 1964. I am putting a shadow box together looking for the time appropriate uniform BGS arm patch. I don't know the different types etc. so I would trust someone here to help me obtain one.

It very much depends on what time period you want to portray. For the late 1950s through mid 1960s the two most common are a bevo (machine woven) badge stitched onto a larger shield shaped piece of cloth. Similar to the camouflage one seen above, except the backing is either dark green felt or blue-gray HBT cotton. The camouflage backed type was used briefly starting in 1967 and possibly only a year or two later. The badges that are not on backing are most likely from that period on. I think all the one piece types are later than 1967.

I'll need an early bevo type patch you mentioned since everything pre 65 . The P-1 is May of 1964 a BMI-BGS issue. I have the drop holster for this P-1 that is an early 63 issue. If anyone here has a duplicate extra maybe we could work a buy.I guess I need the appropriate Arched BGS logo too that was over the patch. I don't have anything to trade unfortunately since what collection I have is small with no fluff.Last edited by donp326; 12-18-2013, 02:48 PM.

Just took a quick check on German eBay and didn't see anything. They do come up for sale every now and again.
