Cheap Repro Paratrooper Helmet or . . . ?

A friend picked this up at a gunshow. Figured it was just a cheap repro of a WW2 FJ helmet. The rim looks a little odd though, even for a cheap repro. Figured it might be worth asking the experts because I know that some of the postwar fallschirmjager or GSG helmets can be worth pretty good money.

Let me know if it's something he should keep away from the kids.









The helmet looks pretty cheaply made and it has a mark that reads "Baumuster : Heister. Berlin C2 - Hersteller : 10/F.W Muller jr.". Thinking this might be a typical fake mark . . . but I don't know.

Sadly just a repro WW2 Fallshirmjager helmet.....the BW and GSG 9 versions had a rim that was turned/folded on the outside not as on this and the WW2 versions, which is turned under and on the inside. Let the kids play with it !

Whew, that's actually good news. He asked me to paint it for him . . . as you can see. I got one coat on and then thought I'd better make sure I wasn't making a huge mistake.

The kids are gonna love it!

Rarely do we see someone happy to find out he has a cheap commercial copy of a very expensive helmet I know a guy who bought two "reproduction" WW2 FJ smocks (Sumpftarn and Splittertarn). Some one made a big, big, big mistake in their eBay listing. He was not disappointed to find out they were original
