    Opinion on German fuel cans?

I see this fuel/water can set with central comtainer in tray for sale recently. It is listed as West German. The paint appear to be BGS or Polziei colour? On sides say " Kraftstoff 5 Liter" and on lower part "VGL 4358". My questions are, what vehicle it for and about how old it would be? Not really look like for Landrover, so maybe something larger. Maybe some vehicle experts here can help?

Sorry about photo size, can not do anything about it.

Interesting but completely unknown "object". The colour for sure indicates BGS / BePo origin... the capacity and the storage in a special tie.down arrangement indicates that it could be part of a "Rüstsatz" containing motorized additional equipment ... generators or things like chain saws. Is the center piece a jerry can also ? Maybe for 2 - stroke oil ??

    Regards,

    Jens

Completely wrong. DDR GES 10. Grosser Entgiftungssatz 10 Liter.
in the "Jerrycans" you had 5 Liters ea. of Water in the Middle Box is a Verbrauchssatz: http://www.berlin-military.com/navi....5047&lang=eng&
and the "Holder" is a cleaning Tray for small Pieces. With the Set you get 2 Plastic Bottles of chemicals to pour into the Water to get 2 Cleaning and Decontamination solutions to decon Vehicles & Equipment after an NBC Attack.
I had loads of them, sadly, now all are sold. Nearly every NVA Vehicle Collector needs one for his Vehicle.

BTW, the best DDR Indicator is the TGL on the Cans. The DDR Equivalent to the West German DIN.
