Military Police Uniform

Gentlemen,

I unpacked a uniform today that I bought some time ago but had not looked at it before. It is a two piece suite that zips together at the waist. There are pads sewn into the suit in several locations that resemble the things that polizei riot squads wear. The only logical use I could see for it would be as a suit for use by the Feldjeager. When I looked up the NATO Stock number on line 8415-12-337-3527 (pants-the label in the top is missing) it indicated it was called "Kombination-maenne. The Kombination makes sense but I can not find a translation for "maenne". There are no pads on the front or back of the tunic so I imagine some sort of protective vest is worn with this uniform. Can anyone confirm the use of this suit and if you have a vest that goes with it post a picture of one.

Looks great, no idea whatfor it was, would also guess protection or motorcycle suit.
"Kombination-maenne" Maybe a "r" is missing? Maenner = Männer = men.

I think I found it. Search the net für "Bundeswehr Schutzkombi". They are offered as motorcycle suits for instance here:

Thanks for the research and the suggestion re maenner. I should have looked at Ranger Shop before starting my thread. That is where I bought the suit but after a few months in a box I forgot what they had called it. A welcome addition to my collection. I'll have to match up one of my motorcycle helmets with it!

Gordon, I think we bought ours around the same time. There was a significant number of these put out on the market in a short period of time. I haven't checked lately, but they don't seem to be on eBay much any more. It's a great uniform, but those pads make it very awkward to store!

Found it at Ranger Shop. That's cheaper than Sturm sold them, and there you have a lot of crap in the Lot. I have one from a Friend with a Cut out Zipper in the Breast Pocket.

I don't remember what I paid, but for sure it wasn't very much. EUR 50 maybe? The one I purchased is near new condition. These uniforms are not very practical for civilian use, so I can understand Ranger trying to sell them cheap just to get rid of them.
